The Easiest Route to Guaranteed Silencing

Increasing numbers of researchers are using small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) to reduce the expression of specific mammalian genes. Applications of siRNA induced RNA interference (RNAi) include gene function analysis, pathway elucidation, functional genomics, and drug target validation, to name just a few.

The Importance of Optimized siRNA Design
One of the key components of success in any siRNA experiment is siRNA design. Well-designed siRNAs efficiently target the mRNA of interest and induce minimal off-target effects. Poorly designed siRNAs, in contrast, lead to little or no gene silencing, or they reduce the expression of nontargeted genes. Unfortunately, designing an effective siRNA can be a time consuming and labor intensive process (Figure 1).

Guaranteed Silencing
The path to successful gene silencing just got easier. Silencer™ Validated and Pre-designed siRNAs are designed for maximum potency and specificity using a highly effective siRNA design algorithm--an algorithm developed by Ambion's partner Cenix BioScience GmbH and tested on >1100 individual siRNAs to nearly 400 different endogenously expressed human targets. Both Silencer Validated and Pre-designed siRNAs, which are chemically synthesized at Ambion, provide guaranteed silencing.

Silencer Validated siRNAs: Functionally tested in cells and guaranteed to silence.
Each Silencer Validated siRNA is guaranteed to reduce target mRNA levels by 70% or more. Available for hundreds of widely studied human targets.

Silencer Pre-designed siRNAs: Guaranteed to silence. At least two Silencer Pre-designed siRNAs are guaranteed to reduce target mRNA levels by 70% or more when you purchase three to the same target. Available for >34,000 human, mouse, and rat targets.
